Arlen Larry Gyden is a motivated Undergraduate Research Assistant currently working in Dr. Xiao Fan’s Laboratory at the University of Florida. Arlen is third-year student majoring in Data Science with a minor in Mathematics. In Dr. Fan’s research team, Arlen contributes to the identification of key characteristics of pathogenic missense variants in humans. His work in the lab involves the use of data science techniques to analyze large datasets with the goal of improving predictions of missense variants in the clinical setting. Arlen plans to employ his research experiences in Dr. Fan’s Laboratory to pursue his graduate studies in Biomathematics, specializing in Oncology.
